Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19586
present thesaurus results more organized
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:05:52 UTC
present thesaurus results more organized: - seperate the thesaurus output into lists for verbs and nouns (eg. when entering "test" the thesaurus cannot know whether it is noun or verb, but it can know whether the words in its database are verb or noun (by an author marking them as such) and present seperated lists accordingly) - divide each list into direct synonyms and contextual synonyms (look up eg. "test" and you'll get results which are not "direct synonyms" but where their use depends on the context (I consider "examination" a direct synonym and "Olympics" are contextual synonym -- although you can't replace "test" by "examination" everywhere too)) (this info has to be maintained and added to the thesaurus explicitly too) - what's the "meaning" list currently for? an explanation of the contextual use? this will not be bad but isn't the case at the moment - one can look up a suggested synonym again by double-clicking on it: offer "back" and "next" buttons with which one can navigate back and forth then - add a button (a small icon) next to each suggested synonym with which one can apply the word immediately (so after selecting a word one doesn't have to move the mouse pointer (aaall the way) to the OK button (seriously))
